In 2016, during a smoggy Detroit summer, fresh off of a project in Mexico City, I stepped on a bus full of mothers, children, and agitators on their way to Lansing, Michigan. Poisoned. I told them, “Lucharé por ti”. I am going to fight for you. A nurse tugged on my camera strap, smiled, and said I had clearly done this before. She said I must be a preacher.
